..........Sue's bit..........

After 22 years teaching 11-18 year olds (Philosophy, World Religions, English and some Maths), I have embarked upon a freelance career.
I am a Regional Official for the Association of Teachers and Lecturers (advising and representing teachers with regard to any professional problems encountered) and am trying to further develop my creative activities - writing, crossword and other puzzle compilation and giving talks.
Currently, I am resident crossword compiler for The Philosophers' Magazine. A textbook for Philosophy A Level, to which I have contributed, is scheduled for publication in Sept. 2005. I have had articles, reviews and puzzles published in Vintage Times, The Church of England News (in collaboration with Eric Bridgstock and Tony McCoy O'Grady), Choice, Archers Addicts, Family Tree and Philosophy Now. I am on the reserve list for Guardian crosswords, and have won prizes from the Creative Thinking / Writing columns of The Independent, The Spectator and The Oldie. I had a column in Candis for 2½ years.
I write, revise and proofread A level papers and markschemes for two of the examination boards.
I am open to commission for research, articles, reviews, crosswords (personalised, to celebrate an occasion, specialist or general), proofreading, editing and speaking engagements. My particular specialisms are philosophy, folklore, religion, literature, education, compiling and solving puzzles and creative thinking, but any subject considered!
